Bhanzu Partners With NODWIN Gaming, Rusk Media to Launch India’s First Math Bee Reality Championship

Bengaluru, July 27, 2026: Math-learning platform Bhanzu has partnered with NODWIN Gaming and Rusk Media to launch Math Bee, a nationwide reality-show-style mathematics championship for students in Grades 7, 8 and 9.

The initiative aims to turn mathematics into an engaging competitive experience by combining problem-solving, entertainment, storytelling and digital participation. Unlike conventional mathematics competitions, Math Bee will see students compete in a professionally produced OTT series in front of celebrity hosts and judges.

The championship is free to enter and open to students studying in Grades 7–9 across India. Participants will initially compete in digital qualifier rounds through Bhanzu’s MathUp App. Top performers will advance to virtual bootcamps, followed by the final reality-show competition.

The eventual winner will be crowned India’s First Math Bee Champion.

Making Mathematics More Engaging

Neelakantha Bhanu, Founder of Bhanzu and known as the World’s Fastest Human Calculator, said the initiative seeks to change the way students perceive mathematics.

“For generations, mathematics has been viewed as a subject of fear rather than enjoyment. Math Bee is designed to fundamentally change that perception by bringing mathematics into the mainstream of popular culture,” Bhanu said.

He added that the competition aims to give children an opportunity to experience the excitement of solving problems and competing with some of the country’s brightest young minds.

Focus on Problem-Solving, Not Rote Learning

Unlike traditional examinations centred largely around academic assessment, Math Bee will evaluate participants on logical thinking, creativity, speed and their ability to solve problems under pressure.

Akshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director of NODWIN Gaming, said mathematics is not simply about arriving at the correct answer but also about identifying patterns and finding smarter ways to approach problems.

“Math Bee takes that thinking and puts it on a live stage, where students from across India can compete, solve problems in real time and show us how their minds work,” Rathee said.

He added that such a platform could potentially help identify future innovators, entrepreneurs and problem-solvers.

Top 200 Students to Enter Reality Show

The competition begins with four nationwide digital qualifier rounds scheduled for July 26, August 2, August 9 and August 16. Students will get multiple opportunities to improve their scores and national rankings.

Following the qualifiers, the top 500 participants will be invited to an exclusive virtual bootcamp led by Neelakantha Bhanu.

From this group, the top 200 students will be selected to participate in the Math Bee reality show.

The organisers said participating schools will also receive nationwide visibility and digital recognition, while students will have an opportunity to win prizes and compete on a national platform.

Registrations for Math Bee are open through the MathUp App on Android and iOS.
