Mumbai, May 14: ICICI Lombard�, one of India’s leading private general insurers, has successfully concluded Season 4 of its flagship business case-study competition, IL IGNITING MINDS, in collaboration with IIM Kozhikode�, one of the country’s premier management institutes. The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response, attracting over 1,900 registrations from students representing 35+ leading institutes across India.
This year’s competition revolved around the theme, “Leveraging the Account Aggregator (AA) Framework to Transform Insurance,” encouraging students from top IIMs and IITs to explore how the AA ecosystem can redefine critical insurance functions such as underwriting, distribution, and claims across Health, Home, Motor, and SME insurance segments.
Introduced under the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Data Empowerment and Protection Architecture (DEPA), the Account Aggregator framework enables individuals and businesses to securely share financial information through a consent-driven mechanism. Given that insurance is fundamentally data-intensive, the framework offers insurers an opportunity to access customer-approved financial information seamlessly, helping improve risk assessment, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
Through IL IGNITING MINDS, ICICI Lombard aimed to create a platform where young innovators could address real-world business challenges, bridge the gap between academia and industry, and contribute fresh perspectives toward the future of insurance in India. The competition also provided participants with an opportunity to apply analytical thinking, innovation, and strategic problem-solving skills while gaining exposure to the rapidly evolving digital insurance landscape.
The latest edition further strengthens the legacy of the competition, following previous successful collaborations with premier institutes including IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, NMIMS, and IIT Bombay (E-Cell).

The grand finale of Season 4 was held at ICICI Lombard’s Head Office, where finalist teams presented their innovative solutions before the company’s senior leadership team.
