Dublin | 19 December 2025
The Indian Embassy in Dublin created history by hosting Ireland’s first exclusive cultural and tourism event dedicated to Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Meghalaya on 19 December 2025. The event was organised under the Embassy’s State Cultural Event Series, aligned with India’s cultural integration initiative Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. Earlier, the Embassy had showcased 22 states and 3 Union Territories through similar programmes.
The event offered Ireland a window into India’s North-Eastern identity through multimedia storytelling, traditional dance, poetry and indigenous craftsmanship. Major performances included Nyishi tribal dance, Manipuri classical dance ‘Radha Abhisar’, fusion choreography ‘Nungole Nungole’, and Khasi dance ‘Satlak Pyrthai’ from Meghalaya. A special segment displayed rare handicrafts, traditional artefacts, handloom textiles and cultural symbols from the three states.
The programme also highlighted the region’s expanding potential in tourism, organic farming, herbal produce, medicinal products and specialty food exports, supported by rapidly improving air connectivity and infrastructure in North-East India. The participation of young performers from outside the region added a unique cross-cultural dimension to the showcase.
The event strengthened India’s cultural diplomacy in Ireland and opened fresh conversations around global tourism interest and export opportunities from the North-Eastern belt, making it a significant moment for India–Ireland cultural outreach.
